I totally completely forgot this blog - Juan reminded me when fixing a bug in the whois port. LOL!

What is the state of affairs ?

- I am sick (again), sore throat and infection in my ear. I bloody even have the fever!!
- I am busy ...
- I have a large vacation comming up by the end of this week!!!

So, i have decided that is it time to try and break my X11 installation by installing X.org's X11. Very exciting! I dont wheep - I just reinstall :P

I am making a crispy copy of Xcode 1.2, downloaded from ADC last night - from the japanese mirror :)

Finally weekend, I have tons to do write on my assignment, code - do DarwinPorts stuff. I just a plain busy bee :)

I have been writing with my ISP about reverse dns to my IP, they dont seem to get what i am saying - am i really that stupid, wait dont answer that!

omg, what a blooper in the l0phtrack port, i should be fix now :)

I am looking into xar! and have found two things i wish to fix:

1) if you try to extract a directory it bus errors
2) it cant handle links (symlinks at least)

i think i have item number 1) fixed, tests to be made, there is though - young apprentice!

port_tools, oh port_tool, where art thou port_tools?
I replied to a thread on darwinports@ today, where i made i clear that i had my pet project port_tools - wonder if there is any respons...

Oh, and gnome 2.6 is almost getting complete, jolly - and the bugreports are comming in too, oh jolly , BLOODY jolly :)

gnome 2.6 comitted
86% of gnome 2.6 is committed + updates to abiword2 and gnumeric.

Missing is gstreamer + gst-plugins etc. These should be comming soon.

Started work on port_info, so now I have port_add and port_info to work on - jolly!

So, most of the basic gnome stuff from 2.6 compiles, now to take care of the runtime-breakage.

Another thing i need to do is port_add fkr@ likes the idea, but it needs *much* work!

I have hack up port_add, a freebsd-like pkg_add -r tool, it is still pretty shaky, but wtf! (sent the tarball to fkr yesterday).

I am so tired and depressed! Nothing seems to go my way :P

I really need the upcomming vacation next week, to sleep, to say hi to my girlfriend, to hack - to remember why i bother to do stuff. Bah!

bugfest
I have started my own personal war against all the bugs in the darwinports-bugzilla! I think its a turn off for new people submitting stuff that it takes, well, months before things are comitted.

On the other hand people dont assign bugs correct (heh, neither do i :P ), and there are alot of "strange and mysteriois" bug that i think are bogus.

When i go into "bugmode" i hang out on #bugfest@freenode, which is cool because there are noone else there to disturb me :)

I am also looking into what makes the Mach kernel tick, pretty exciting stuff.
